SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Mode of Submission: The Final Stand accepts submissions on a rolling basis from external contributors.

TFS invites submissions on any subject matter related to climate change and its intersections. We encourage pieces based on the Indian context and relevant to the Indian audience.

Co-authorship: Co-authorship upto 2 authors is permitted.

The article should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) to thefinalstand@jgu.edu.in

The manuscript should not contain the name of the author or their institutional affiliation or any other identification mark

The following details of the author(s) must be mentioned in the body of the email

The articles submitted must adhere to a word limit between 1000-1500 words and should be analytical in nature. The Final Stand is flexible on the word count depending on the quality of the submission.

References must be hyperlinked within the text of the article with credible online sources. Endnotes (OSCOLA or Bluebook) to be used incase of unavailability of online sources.

Posts will be considered for publication based on various factors including relevance, quality, structure, logic and writing style.

Title of Article should be equal to or less than 100 characters

Abbreviations of any defined terms used shall be placed inside (parenthesis) at the first occurrence in the manner specified. For Example, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (“UNFCCC”)

Direct quotations from any judgement or any other source should be italicised and placed inside “double quotes”.

AUTHOR AGREEMENT

The articles submitted for publication should be an original work of the author who shall be responsible for ensuring the veracity of the statement of facts, opinions, or views in the submission.

All submissions made to The Final Stand should not be simultaneously considered by any other publication.

The Final Stand maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. Submissions are accepted for publication on the condition that they do not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any third parties. All submissions will be checked for plagiarism. Infringing, offensive, or plagiarised submissions will be rejected/removed.
REVIEW PROCESS

An acknowledgement of the receipt of submission shall be made by The Final Stand within 4 days of receipt of manuscript.

The manuscript will then go through a double-blind peer review process.
-
The editorial team would normally review and revert to the author within 4 weeks.
-
Authors should be prepared to make suitable changes to their articles as required by the editorial team before acceptance.
-
All decisions made by the editorial team are final and may not be subject to additional review.

As a condition of publication, the author(s) grant The Final Stand an irrevocable, transferable, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, publish, and distribute their submission in all media including but not limited to any print and electronic services.
