THE FINAL STAND: OUR LAST CHANCE AT CLIMATE JUSTICE

“We must act now with ambition and urgency to tackle the world’s grave climate emergency" – UN Secretary General António Guterres at a climate meeting in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), June 2019

Climate Change is no longer a distant phenomenon affecting only a few parts of our planet. It is now the most important issue being faced by countries across the world. With rising sea levels, prolonged heat waves, erratic weather changes, India’s major cities have already started witnessing the impacts of climate change. Being one of the most vulnerable countries to these changes, India also houses the most number of people in risk of losing their livelihood and homes. If immediate action is not taken to deal with this situation, millions of children and future generations are in peril of facing dire consequences.

The Final Stand is an initiative undertaken by law students of Jindal Global School, determined to bring legislative change in India to reduce our carbon footprint and develop a social consciousness regarding climate change. Through highlighting localized issues and dispersing climate education in regional languages across the country, we aim to bring the conversation on climate to the forefront.
