What is the Eco-Walk?

At a time when climate change is no longer a distant threat but a lived reality, we often ask ourselves what meaningful action looks like. How do we, as a community of thinkers, students, and future changemakers, move beyond discussion and into action?

The Eco-Walk is not just a stroll across the campus; it is a symbolic gathering of students, faculty, and leadership committed to environmental awareness and action. It’s a moment for our community to come together, reflect on our relationship with the planet, and reaffirm our shared responsibility towards building a greener, more just future.

We truly believe that change begins with a conversation and that walking together is one of the oldest, most powerful ways to begin one. Some of the most inspiring voices from across the university joined us, including our Vice Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar, JGU Registrar Professor Sridhar Patnaik, Dean of JSES Prof. Abhiroop Chowdhury, and Justice Wilson all walking in solidarity with climate-conscious students and faculty.
